The Ultimate Unicorn Birthday Party

Pastel-Unicorn-Birthday-Party.jpg

Every year she keeps getting older and I keep trying to find away to keep her little.  The only thing about our sweet girl turning one year older is that we get to throw the most epic birthday parties.  When she turned 1 it was Circus, 2 was Minnie (my photos were all lost when my SD card broke..insert tears), last year we did Mermaid and for 4 we created the ultimate Unicorn birthday party.

Ultimate Unicorn Birthday Party

It's so much work to put everything together, but once I see the smile on her face, I forget the hours and late nights.  Once upon a time I made everything by hand, but I've gotten wiser with the years.  Here is how I brought together an awesome Unicorn Birthday Party with very little craftiness required.  For her school celebration we did this cute store bought Unicorn Cupcake hack.

Pastel Unicorn Birthday Party

Combining banners, garland and accordion lanterns is how I usually start our backdrop.  I grabbed most of these from Target (shop links at the end of this post).  I found this unicorn head and circle frame at Hobby Lobby for the perfect focal point.

Princess Wands

Hydrangea are my favorite floral for parties, one stem can fill an entire vase.  You can find them at most grocery stores, but I love to have them in my garden for easy decorating.

Birthday Party

Can you tell she was in love with her party?  My mom and I stayed up for hours making unicorn headbands for each of the girls.

I created a pattern and will be sharing a tutorial video soon on how to create these no sew headbands for your next party.

Unicorn Sugar Cookies

I tried to make sugar cookies for a party once...once was all it took.  Now I hire out that task and it makes the party prep much more enjoyable.  I had my friend Danielle from Sugarswell Cookies make these darling unicorns for the party.  They matched the decor, printables and colors perfectly... plus they were so yummy!

Unicorn Birthday Party Favors

I used these gold gabel boxes from Hobby Lobby and tied them with tulle ribbon.  Allison from Madison Design Studio designed an entire printable set for me including these cute Thank You tags.  Inside the boxes were unicorn bracelets, necklaces and figures.  I also included some rhinestone tattoos that were a big hit.

Cardboard Letter

I did DIY this large glitter number 4, but it was so simple!  The cardboard letters were also at Hobby Lobby and that is where I found this pink glitter scrapbook paper.  I sprayed the front of the letter with spray adhesive and placed the sheets of paper on top.  Once it was dry I used a box cutter to trim the over hang off.

Unicorn Head

The wall, frame and unicorn head were all white so I needed a way to make it stand out.  I happened to have some lavender vinyl in the garage so I cut it in an oval and put that on the wall behind the frame.

Unicorn Straws

Target has a great selection of unicorn birthday party items and these straws were a big hit!

Chocolate Popcorn

No one can pass up popcorn at a party, but chocolate covered popcorn takes it to another level.  I melted white chocolate and tossed it with fresh popcorn.  Then I drizzled pink and purple candy melts on top and sprinkled with fun candies.

Unicorn PopcornFriends

For an activity, I ironed vinyl unicorn shapes on to small canvas bags and let the girls color them with fabric markers.  I was so impressed with how much care and detail they put into their creations.

Unicorn Cake

This cake was unbelievable!  My sweet friend Lizzie made it for Kennedy and it turned out absolutely perfect.  I saw the design for the top of the cake on pinterest, but had the idea to cover the bottom tier in candy and sprinkles.  After all, what's a unicorn birthday party without massive amounts of sprinkles?!

I love how Allison created an entire set of paper products to match the Target decorations so perfectly.  These gold unicorns were purchased off Amazon and then I just sprayed them with metallic gold paint.

Gumballs

Gumballs at every party!

Circus Animal Cookies

The circus animal cookies wanted to join us as well.

Unicorn Party Treats

These hostess Snowballs were the perfect shade of pink!

Lemonheads

I didn't even realize that these gem terrariums matched the food labels till right now.  I mean....I totally planned that!  These are from Hobby Lobby as well.

Rainbow CandyUnicorn Sign

This wood sign...also Hobby Lobby.  I swear, they have everything!

Zingers for the win.  I may have eaten and entire package myself while setting up.
