Halloween Monster Munch Popcorn Mix and Free Printable
Jen and I are excited to be part of a fun little project call the Popcorn Box Blog Hop! We were each given a plain ole' popcorn box and some fun supplies and free reign to create something awesome with them. Given that it is a popcorn box and that my children are completely obsessed with popcorn I came up with this yummy Monster Munch Popcorn Mix recipe.
The only thing my kids love more than butter popcorn is popcorn mix. It's so easy for me to throw together and it keeps them happy for at least an hour which might as well be eternity in toddler time. I usually grab whatever we have in the pantry: pretzels, goldfish, fruit snacks, cereal...and just toss it in a bowl with some popcorn. This mix that I'm sharing today is just a little more special!
Candy corn and mallow pumpkins only come around once a year so I usually try to get my fill before the shelves get cleared out to make room for stocking stuffers. And how can you go wrong with white chocolate and sprinkles? Top that off with some spooky candy eyeballs and you have an awesome Halloween treat that you can keep to yourself or share with your favorite goul or guy.
I covered our box with chalkboard paper and added a little glitter trim on the bottom. I cut out some cute little triangles and glued them onto some black and white bakers twine. I just clipped that on with some little clothes pins and filled with the Monster Mix!
I love the chalkboard paper cause you could write a little message on the box and hand it off to a friend or even leave it as a surprise from a mystery monster to someone who needs a little cheering up.
Monster Munch Popcorn Mix Recipe
8 c popped popcorn
1/2 c white chocolate chips melted
1/4 c (each) candy corn & mallow pumpkins
colored sprinkles
Instructions: pour chocolate over popcorn and toss till coated | layout on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper | sprinkle candy corn, pumpkins and colored sprinkles on top quickly before chocolate dries | let cool till chocolate is set and serve or package for gifts using tag below
